Shilpa Shetty is on her way for a royal treat. The actress along with her Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rajasthan Royals will be attending a dinner hosted by Padmani Devi of the erstwhile Jaipur royal family.
"En route to Jaipur to attend a Rajasthan Royals team dinner hosted by the royal family her highness Maharani Padmani Devi, who I completely adore because she is so full of positive energy and showers me with so much love," Shilpa posted on her blog.

This time I’m with Kangana baby. The actress is angry for all the right reasons. Well, who wouldn’t be if the ‘other girl’ is getting all the attention. Confused? Lemme explain.
The other day I was at the beauty salon doing my French manicure when a little birdie dropped the bomb. I simply couldn’t believe my ears.
Apparently Kangana is so upset with the Roshans that she wants her name taken out of the main credit list of Kites (which also stars Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori) and put under the ’special appearance’ category.

As it is Barbara has been hogging the limelight (splashing her itsy-bitsy clothes) ever since the film had gone on the floors.
And the Roshans’ have made no effort to even give her due weightage in the promos ofKites. So far Kangana has held her chin high and took it in her stride.

The actress says she was never given a script for ‘Rana’

Vidya Balan is known for her fiery performances. Unlike other actresses, she doesn’t like being the glam doll whose only job is to dance for the hero. And if the script and her role isn’t good enough, she doesn’t hesitate to refuse even the biggest superstar of the country.
When Vidya refused the Rajnikant-starrer ‘Rana’ a few months ago, people sniggered that she had made a big mistake. After all, which actress would say no to a Rajni-starrer which always sets new records at the BO?
But Vidya recently revealed why she refused ‘Rana’. “The makers of the film spoke to me about it, but I wasn’t exactly in serious talks. Later, when I asked for a script, I didn’t get any.”
When ‘The Dirty Picture’ actress was asked to clarify whether she had been asked to sign the movie offer without reading the script she said, “I don’t know what to say or how to explain it. They just didn’t call me back. And how can I take the next step without a script?”
‘Rana’s’ director K S Ravikumar confirmed this news. “Yes, Vidya was also contacted. But since our script wasn’t ready by then, we couldn’t hand it over to her. And by the time the story was locked, it had gone onto a completely different tangent. So, there was no point in sending the script to her.”
‘Rana’, which now stars Deepika Paduknow, seems jinxed. The film has been practically shelved due to Rajni’s ill-health. Moreover, the 63-year-old actor has also committed himself to his daughter Soundarya’s 3D film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ which is touted to be a prequel to ‘Rana.’
As for Vidya, after the super success of ‘The Dirty Pictures’ she wouldn’t be ruing the loss of ‘Rana’ for sure!

However, the actress who is now among the top five heroines in T’town was once considered ‘unlucky’ in the Malayalam film industry which is why her south career was nipped even before it could take off!
Apparently, before ‘Parineeta’, Vidya was offered scores of Malayalam films with top stars like Mohanlal and Mammotty. And given her south Indian lineage, she was only too happy to work in them. But the projects never took off for some reason or the other prompting superstitious filmmakers down south to label her a ‘jinx’.
However, her astounding success in Bollywood seems to have woken the southern directors to her talent and now, nearly eight years after her debut, she is being wooed again to sign Malayalam films. Sources say she is being sent scripts and offers from Mollywood almost daily.
On her part, Vidya doesn’t hold any grudge against anyone for the ‘bad luck’ tag. At a recent award function hosted by Asianet, she said she was keen to feature in movies with the veterans of the industry and that acting in a Malayalam film would be the best gift she could give to her parents.

Madhuri Dixit to unveil wax statue soon!
The much-awaited wax statue of Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit will be unveiled at London's Madame Tussauds March 7.
"Madame Tussauds unveiling on March 7, 2012. See you then," tweeted Madhuri, who has moved here from Denver to play a new innings in Bollywood.
Known for her natural acting talent and graceful dancing, the 44-year-old is the latest Indian film star to join the A-list line up at the Madame Tussauds wax museum, which also houses statues of Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
Madhuri's wax statue has reportedly cost 150,000 pounds and it was completed in four months by a team of sculptors and experts in hair, makeup and wardrobe.
The actress is remembered for her performances in Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Sajan, Beta, Dil, Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Devdas.
After playing a successful long innings and reigning filmdom, she bowed out of Bollywood in 2002 when she married US-based doctor Shriram Madhav Nene. Post-marriage, the actress moved to Denver and got busy with her husband and later two sons.

After marriage, her only release was Aaja Nachle, but it didn't do well at the box office, however, the dancing queen struck the right chord with her fans when she appeared on the small screen as the judge of dance reality show Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 5.

For someone who has tasted the flavour of several languages and films made in different regions, the ability to appreciate the beauty of the native cultures and the way the cinema that emerges in those regions mirrors the cultures, would come naturally. Shriya Saran, who has worked in many industries, and who is now acting under Deepa Mehta, for a film based on Salman Rushdie's 1981 magnum opus, Midnight's Children, knows it better than many others.She, thus, urges against compartmentalising cinema as South, North, etc. Espousing the cause of cinema, she says that dividing the films on the basis of regions will do no good. "I have been associated with film industries. It is beneficial to know various languages and experience the many cultures. It broadens the outlook of our life. I can now understand Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Every language has got a style of its own and its own significance. That shows itself in the films made in those languages", Shriya rationalises.
One must appreciate Shirya's broad view. Driving home the necessity to appreciate films from other States, she has made a case of films as cultural chronicles in the modern times.
Roshan Andrews to remake Mohanlal's Casanova in Bollywood

Director Roshan Andrews, who directed the Mohanlal starrer Casanova plans to remake the film in Hindi.The Bollywood remake version of Casanova might star Aamir Khan or Ajay Devgn.
The remake rights of Mohanlal-Shriya Saran starrerCasanova is apparently said to have been sold for a record-breaking amount.
Roshan Andrews said that even when the script was being written for the original film, there were thoughts about making it in Hindi since the script has all the elements required for a Bollywood masala movie.
Though Roshan Andrews did not reveal the name the star, he said that the actor would be an established star to do justice to Lal's role in the film.
The Casanova director, who plans to expand his horizons said made it clear that though he plans to direct Bollywod film, Kerala will remain his base.
